According to the latest data, in December 2025 losses suffered by crypto projects due to hacks amounted to around 76 million dollars, which is approximately 60 percent less than in November, when more than 194 million dollars in losses were recorded. Despite this decline, tens of millions of dollars are still leaving the ecosystem as a result of cyberattacks, showing that security threats remain a serious issue.

In December, 26 major security incidents were recorded, indicating ongoing interest from attackers in digital assets. Among the most notable cases, experts highlight the hack of a popular browser-based wallet extension, which resulted in losses of around 7 million dollars for users. A blockchain protocol was also attacked, leading to the theft of nearly 4 million dollars.

Cybersecurity experts emphasize that although the decrease in stolen funds appears to be a positive trend, investors and users should remain vigilant. Attackers are gradually shifting their focus from large protocols to smaller projects and their users, where it is more difficult to ensure strong protection and the chances of a successful attack are higher.

Specialists also note that improvements in security mechanisms among large projects are reflected in the statistics, but security gaps still exist. Users are advised to apply additional protective measures, use trusted wallets and services, and enable multi-factor authentication and other security tools.
